A Tale D’Or

Come gather young ladd

To sit by your dad

I’ll tell you a tale of de Or

There came a great battle

We fell from the saddle

And scattered to distant shore

We put pain behind us

Let memories remind us

That life is still good when you’re poor

For we are still living

Our love we are giving

In God’s grace forever more

Son, carry our honor

Earn nothing but Valor

Show patience as never before

For one day will come

The hunger be done

And we’ll gather again at D’Or

Ancient Angel

I found an ancient angel,
She floats upon a wall.
Not many folks have seen her,
She’ll come whenever you call.

She is guarded by the spirits,
If you seek her you will find;
She will only appear for you,
If you have an open mind.

When you finally see her,
You’ll wish that she would talk;
But the only way she’ll speak,
Is when you take the walk.

She believes in only truth,
And if you should betray;
She’ll hide herself in the shadows,
And everything turns gray.

She was sent here from heaven,
On that you can depend.
But if you ever harm the earth,
The earth she will defend.

If you should wish to please her,
Tread lightly on her ground.
Share truth and good with others,
And your soul to her is found.

When you reach your peak of faith,
She’ll keep  you in her heart.
She will show you mercy,
Your souls will never part.

If your faith turns into loyalty,
With her your soul will stay.
And when darkness takes the light,
She will still show you the way.

I found an ancient angel,
She lives upon a wall.
I’ll honor what she stands for,
And I will not fall.

"flowers and knives":

You run down the stairs fear pumping through your veins
Tears swelling in your eyes as the earth begins to shake
He is coming!
You look for safety but it is no where to be found
A lone knife sitting on the counter looks more beautiful than a flower
He is here!
You fall on top of him as he pulls at your hair
No one can hear you scream so why even bother
He is angry!
You grab for the knife and hold it as defense
Courage on your face but no where near your heart
He is laughing!
You try to run away but he grabs your empty hand
Swinging you around as if it were a game
He is bleeding!
You pull away and try not to be sick
The knife sticking out where a heart should be found
He is dieing!
You see him crumple and fall as red lights flash across your face
The banging at the door louder than your silent screams
He is dead!

"Sister":

You held me when I cried
You made me laugh when I was bored
You were the only one who would fight me when I was angry
I made you bleed and you broke my heart
We were enemies of the strongest kind
But still I loved you
I envied your confidence and your courage
I was weak and standing next to you made me feel small
I hated the cocky way you spoke and swore to never be like you
But still I cared about you
The years passed and our hatred grew
I had confidence and courage of my own
I felt strong and thought I didn't need you anymore and I planned my escape
Then your friends died in a car crash and everything changed
You came and found me
Making me laugh again
We steadily became closer then we've ever been before
I find myself saying 'I love you' again
Three words I haven't spoken to you in so long
My greatest and worst memories revolve around you
You are the voice speaking reason in my head
You are my connection to the past and my only link
To the future
